Keeping the memories alive

Keeping the memories alive

Walking around the Lillibrooke Manor Estate on the morning of a wedding fills me with joy and excitement for the couple getting married.

The gardens are pruned and mowed to perfection. The cooking smells making their way out of the kitchen are to die for. Fridges are stocked with a choice of wine and bubbles. Tables are set-up in the beautiful Grade II Listed Great Barn, ready for friends and family to sit around and eat drink and be merry. All of these things we strive to achieve for every couples dream day.

It’s the personal touches bought to Lillibrooke Manor Estate by our couples that transforms our venue into a space decorated in their personal history, memories and sentimentality.  Whether traditionally decorated with flower arrangements, lit up with fairy-lights and lanterns or covered with photographs of the bride and groom, beautifully capturing the growth of their relationship, our stunning barn welcomes this transformation.

So with everything in place ready for a spectacular day ahead and the Bride and Groom swallowing down any last minutes nerves with a glass of bubbles, we eagerly await the arrival of their guests, a selection of their nearest and dearest all individually-picked to share this momentous day with them.

On an emotional day filled with love and laughter, it’s great to give the guests an opportunity to give something back to the newlyweds by creating a keepsake for them to reflect on for years to come.

A few of our favourites include combining a picture of the guests, often taken in a photo booth whilst dressed in an array of props, and a message from their loved ones. Polaroid pictures offer a more retro twist for a vintage styled wedding.

Guests could sign an individual puzzle pieces for the couple to piece together whilst reminiscing on their guest’s messages. This could be framed and hung in the home. An alternative framing of a signed mount featuring a favourite picture from the day is also a lovely way to revisit the memories.

Personalising a Jenga Set, is sure to make game nights for the couple even more sentimental or  filling a shadow box with tiny hearts penned with gorgeous messages makes a great addition to any home.

For the travel lovers, why not think about adding recommendations for the next adventure along with a loving message to a vintage globe or map of the world. The honeymoon may just be the start.

Traditional guest books certainly still have their place and there are plenty of gorgeous options out there to choose from. There are plenty of ways to keep the memories alive, whilst having some fun along the way.
