Brightwell Vineyard is a small jewel in the crown of English winemaking. Set in glorious Oxfordshire countryside, the woodland lakeside marquee site is approached via a rustic carriage drive through acres of grapes ripening on the vine or by boat with direct access from the River Thames. Offering total peace and tranquility this is the ideal marquee site for 200+ guests. The vines that greet you as you enter Brightwell Vineyard were planted more than 20 years ago as one of the forerunners in the revival of the British wine industry. The vines now produce an impressive 30,000 bottles of wine each year with demand far exceeding supply for their distinctive 'nose' and complex palates.
Although Brightwell Vineyard does not currently hold a licence for civil ceremonies, wedding or corporate parties can be collected by boat from the river adjacent to the Town Hall in Wallingford (licenced for civil ceremonies), the local church in Brightwell Cum Sotwell or even the Registry Office in Henley. Your party can then take a leisurely cruise along the Thames landing at the venue's private mooring in this unique and romantic sylvan setting, Alternatively, if a trip afloat is not for you then you might prefer to arrive at the venue by horse and cart or car along the pretty carriage drive through the vineyard. During the Summer months, a field car-park is also available for up to 300 guests who may prefer to arrive independently.
On arrival at the venue your guests will be greeted with a fairytale marquee set in the most beautiful natural lakeside setting full of flora and fauna and with a pretty ornamental bridge crossing from the private jetty on the Thames. Welcome drinks can be served on the lawn overlooking the lake whilst you take full advantage of this fabulous unspoilt environment for your Wedding or Commemorative photos. Your guests will then be called to take their seats for an amazing wedding reception cocooned in the billowing white silk interior of the Great Marquee by the Lake. After Dinner and Speeches you will probably want to dance the night away under the stars with perhaps a hog roast or gourmet barbecue as a buffet for friends invited to the evening reception whilst we take care of your guests with either a cash or subsidised bar.
The magical day will end with Carriages at midnight as you and your guests depart with memories to treasure.
